Such a fantastic book! It was such a great book to assist in the transition to big brother and to help him understand what was going on better in language he could understand. My son loves me reading this to him each night before bed. This will likely be my baby shower gift from now on!!

My Mum Built a Baby by Courtney Birch is a beautiful board book for families preparing a big brother or sister for a new little one joining the family.
Counting the months of pregnancy with blocks creates a meaningful opportunity to open up conversations about what’s happening as baby grows — and what life might look like once those extra little pitter-patters arrive. I especially love how it helps older siblings understand that baby may need to be in Mum’s arms for a little while before they’re big enough to play together.
It’s a thoughtful and comforting read that supports connection, understanding and excitement during a time of change — a lovely way to prepare little hearts for a growing family.🩷🩵

I was gifted this beautiful book from a friend and have read it sooo many times with my daughter.
One day we were just talking about babies and my daughter said to me that babies take NINE months to grow in the mummies tummy. I asked her “how on earth do you know that?!” she replied “from my baby book” and proceeded to go and get it to show me 😭My Mum Built a Baby -

I’m pregnant with baby number 2 and this book has helped with some adorable conversations with my firstborn! It’s really helped her be excited about getting a baby brother. Plus we can even practice our counting and number recognition with this book, so it’s such a good all-rounder!

A very much loved book in our house by everyone young and old! Its a regular pick to read before bed and the kids are able to recite most of it now. We’ll never be able to talk about anything being ‘big and strong’ again without following it up with ‘and green and leafy’. Highly recommend

Our family loves this book! We’ve been reading it for a few years now and my daughter always asks to read it again and again when she spots it on the bookshelf. Beautiful illustrations and fun rhyming makes this book a very easy read, and I love the cheeky but super subtle reminder about your pelvic floor health

This Is How I Found Him
“He was way too quiet so I went looking and this is how I found him! Quietly reading his book. He loves telling me that the doggies are Randy and Trevor (our pups)”

“My Mum Wets her Plants is such a great little book that my kids love to read! Even better, Birchy’s Books cleverly weaves in an important message about incontinence after childbirth! As a women’s pelvic health physiotherapist, I love how much Birchy’s Books is championing the message that while incontinence is common, it doesn’t have to become the norm!!”
Mischa Bongers
“My Mum Wets Her Plants always gets a double-take when clients spy it sitting on the bookshelf in our clinic – we love the story of mum and toddler spending quality time together in nature. We particularly like the shout-out to mums to remind them to prioritise their health and recovery by attending their women’s health physios review postpartum. Here’s to keeping us wetting our plants – and NOT our pants!”

“ ‘Everyday my mum wets her plants’ – my favourite quote from the sweetest book I’ve ever read. This sits in my waiting room and is read by many women as a gentle reminder to get help if you are ‘wetting your plants’. ”
