Hello! I’m Courtney— mum of two boys, author and nurse from North Queensland, Australia. My idea for Birchy’s Books began in my backyard during my sons first year. This is where I truly discovered what the term Witching Hour was all about. I learnt that being outdoors offered some relief, so every afternoon we would water our garden and eventually – My Mum Wet’s Her Plants was written on a scrap piece of paper on the kitchen table & my journey to becoming published, began …

All of my books have been inspired from my own moments in motherhood and you can bet that my stories are tried and tested on my boys ears over and over again, before you read them.

Publishing a book has never been on my radar. Though, I guess that’s one of the many funny things about having kids – for me, it has meant they have sparked a creative side that I never quite knew existed and I’ve decided to do what I would advise them to do … just give it a go.

So here I am,
