Hello! I’m Courtney – mum of two boys and a nurse from North Queensland, Australia. Birchy’s Books began in my backyard during my sons first year. This is where I truly discovered what the term Witching Hour was all about. I learnt that being outdoors offered some relief, so every afternoon we would water our garden and eventually – My Mum Wet’s Her Plants was written on a scrap piece of paper on the kitchen table & my journey to becoming published, began…

Publishing a book has never been on my radar. Though, I guess that’s one of the many funny things about having kids – for me, it has meant they have sparked a creative side that I never quite knew existed and despite the cloud of self-doubt about putting myself and my books out there – I’ve decided to do it anyway!
